James and I went to ultrasound appointment #3 today. The baby looks great. He still has a heart, brain, major organs, and everything with him seems to be just fine. He's been "kicking" my right side for the last few days to the point where it actually hurts. I even told James the other night that I think this kid might come early in the form of poking a hole through my stomach. Come to find out today, this major "kicking" point is actually his head. Ouch! He must have a headache.
Here is a picture of a face profile (or alien life form, whichever you choose to see).
He is measuring about 3 weeks bigger than average. That means we could have another 9-pounder in the family, I guess. I don't think I mentioned it on the blog, but I even had to do a 3-hour diabetes, poke holes in your arms 8,000 times, lab test a few weeks ago. It came back normal. (My doctor is worried about the betes and me having a big baby, even though this didn't seem to be a concern at all with Molly and she was giant. Oh well.) On the day of the short test, I skipped lunch and finished a Coke on the way to the doctor and lab. That was probably not a good idea and I think it may have had something to do with my preliminary numbers being 2 points above the bottom of the range in which my doctor requires the 3 hour test. I was a little bit worried. I'm not as healthy as I should be and my sister is a diabetic. I was extremely relieved when the 3 hour test came back normal. Phew!
I have yet another follow up ultrasound in 4 more weeks. I still need to be monitored for a couple of borderline potential problems that were looked at today again and are still there. One of the issues we dealt with while expecting Molly, but it turned out not to be a problem. Another issue is new this time around and we'll just have to see what happens.
I'm hoping for this baby to come a week early so I can miss having to go sit through graduation!! What do you think?

I didn't know about the coke. You are a dork. Of course you failed the test!!! At least it was only by a few points. A coke has, I think, 52 grams of carbs/sugar per can. One can of coke is 1/4 as many carbs as i can have in a day.
You're lucky that your pancreas processes sugar so well that you were only at 143....
Goofy sister!
oh...
cute baby.
I cannot wait to meet my nephew.
Even though I have to wait.
I'm still excited.
