Its Summer!!!

Yippy!!
Molly and I left school early today because we could. Tomorrow is graduation, but today was pretty much the last day.
Yes!

Here is our list of things we want to do this summer:
Go to the zoo
Go to the acquarium
Go to Wheeler Farm
Learn to walk
Learn to eat regular food
Go for walks in the stroller
Clean out the green room
Go swimming
... and many other things!

I'm a dork and had kind of sad moment today. As Molly and I were driving away from school I called my mom and was excited with her for a few minutes because school is out for the summer! After I hung up with my mom, I felt like I needed to go visit my Grandma and celebrate school being out with her. I would have stopped and gotten her a diet coke and some nuggets from Wendy's to celebrate this glorious day. We would have talked about how cute Molly is. Grandma would have sung, "I love you a bushel and a peck" to her. We would have talked about my goofy students and things going on at my school. We would have talked about what was happening in the news, the ward, the family. If Molly cooperated, hopefully I could have picked up a little or taken out the trash. Maybe I could have changed the wash or refilled her drink. Sigh. Oh well.

Grandma's swimming pool was put in her backyard the year I was born. Summertime, for literally my entire life, has revolved around Grandma's backyard. Her backyard is still there and we'll try to have fun in the pool this summer, but its just not going to be the same. For my 31 years of existence, summer has meant sun, fun, french fries, and Grandma. I'm sad. She won't be sitting in her chair with her mug of diet coke and her sunglasses on. She won't be hollering at the kids to stop running or stop fighting. She won't be there on the deck to talk to.

Anyway (this post was supposed to be about Molly), I get to go from being a part-time mom of 100+ and a part-time and weekend mom of 1 to being a full time mom of 1 for a few months.

Here is the little girl I get to hang out with:

She pulls funny faces.

She sleeps with her face smashed and her rear in the air.

She doesn't always cooperate or focus on her animal sounds even though she knows them.
(Sorry about the washing machine noise in the background, but Molly snorts like revenge of the nerds at around 1:35.)

However, she is really cute, she's mine, and I love her!
(Plus, she giggles like crazy when she is delirious and I pull funny faces at her.)

We wrapped up this adventure at Wendy's.

We headed to Aunt Karen's for a Petersen family party! Everyone sat around the kitchen table and played dominoes.

Molly was sort of . . . well she screamed at us quite a bit . . . but was happy to come home to her own space. (This photo was borrowed from Rubie. Thanks, Rubie!)
