The semester ends August 5th. This is my last class, but I am not doing so well in it. All I need to do is pass it, right? It is so frustrating, though. To get a grade in this class you create your own "learning contract." That consists of a chart with a few objectives and assignments on it, entirely of my own creation. I've done ok keeping up with the discussion posts in the class, but I haven't done the assignments I created for myself. I am running out of time. Grrrrrrr....
I don't learn well this way. I need someone to tell me exactly what it is I am supposed to learn and exactly what is expected of me in order to learn it proficiently. This class is too fluffy.
So, according to my own learning contract, I need to
1. Interview someone teaching mathematics to adults in a community ed. program and write a reflection about my interviews.
2. Research strategies for teaching adult learners and revise 2-3 current lesson plans to reflect those strategies
3. Identify what strategies specific to adult learners would also benefit math students and created a list explaining them and identifying them with the philsophies of learning in the textbook.
Easy enough, right?
Alright, I've got 2 and a half weeks . . . GET TO WORK!!!!
