Good Girl

Today when I picked Molly up from school, Miss Sarah, one of her teachers, complemented her. She told me that Molly is such a good talker! She is a great example to the other kids her age in using her words. Good girl, Molly!

Unfortunately, we have digressed slightly, though and Molly insists her name is no longer "Molly," but "Money." I'm not sure why we have confusion. While she was in the bath tonight, I kept saying, "La la la la Molllly." She would repeat, "La la la la Money." We'll try again tomorrow.

Busy Weekend

Our weekend was good, but super busy. I was very sleepy today and though I could have blamed Daylight Savings, there's no need. I am just tired. Here are the highlights:

Friday - Happy 5th Anniversary
On Friday, we celebrated, or at least acknowledged, being wedded to one another for 5 years. We went to the Tin Roof Grill and it was tasty. We were going to just take Molly with us, but then my mom ended up tending my nephews and was willing to add one more to the group for a couple of hours. Molly had fun and we had a nice dinner without worrying about her throwing food on the ground or spilling anything. (And, I found this picture and have only a very vague recollection of wearing a headband to my wedding reception.)

Saturday - The Longest Day
The Binggeli's and Jarrell came to visit on Saturday afternoon. We went to check out a few things at Furniture Warehouse's going-out-of-business sale and the little grandpa owner in the cowboy hat was there shaking everyone's hand. Molly loved running around the store and attacking Uncle Jarrell. She definitely goo-goo eyes for her young uncles. I swear her favorite people are Willie and Jarrell. Afterwards, we went to Hires for lunch.

Later in the afternoon, Molly and James both zonked and I worked on trying to get our house cleaned up for a party on Sunday.

Saturday night, James, Willie, Annie, and I went on a night out on the town! You see, Guster was in town and as much as three of us are too old to go to concerts (and as much as Willie complained about too many pregnant women all over the place at the show), we couldn't have missed Guster. I have no idea how many times we have seen them, probably 10ish, but Saturday's show was interesting and good. They did an "acoustic set with strings." The "strings" consisted of a violin and cello and the "acoustic" consisted of everything non-electric but the bass (and all band members were seated the entire time). They took requests, bantered on about all sorts of crazy things and it was pretty good! The requesting part got a little out of hand and people just kept yelling things and wouldn't stop. There was also this super obnoxious pregnant women (no it wasn't me, they were just all over the place) who was sitting on a chair and literally every 3 minutes for the whole 3 hours yelled at people in front of her to move because she couldn't see. Duh. It was annoying. (picture stolen from someone on facebook)

We got back to my mom and dad's between 11:00 and 11:30 p.m. I felt bad about leaving Molly with my mom and dad for two nights in a row, but this part of the weekend had been planned for a while and I think Molly had fun. She was still going strong, even that late, with my parents, but crashed shortly before we made it home.

I went to the grocery store since I didn't make it earlier in the day. I decided to go to the Evil Wal-Empire since it is literally the closest store to my house and that's all that matters at midnight. I don't like Wal-Mart. There were way too many little kids running around the store for so late at night. One whole family was loading 1 item, a 40-something inch TV, into their vehicle with a whole bunch of little kids. No milk. No groceries. What in the world do you need that big of a TV for at midnight with those little kids? Oh my goodness. I ignored most of my list and just got things I needed for Sunday. I got through the store fast, but then stood in the one-and-only checkout line for 7 hours. It was a 20 items or less line. I had 20 items or more, but whatever. The people behind me were buying a 400-lb bag of dog food. The people in front of me were buying a 6 back of bottled root beer and wouldn't let go of each other's hands.

Sunday - The Day of Rest That Wasn't
I woke up at 6:00 a.m. (which was really 5:00 because of Daylight Savings) and started making cookies for a party Sunday night. I was planning to do them after Wal-Mart, but my poor pregnant back and legs felt like I had been at Disneyland for 3 days after standing at the concert for 3 hours. I had to go to bed.

By 9:00ish, James didn't feel well and had work to do. Molly was super sleepy. I was hoping to sneak away and leave them both at home to attend baby Braidyn's Blessing at my aunt Karen's ward. Just as I was leaving, Molly woke up. I hurried and got her ready and she went with me. The blessing was nice and I was glad we went.

Since Molly and I had already been to a sacrament meeting and since I was hoping she would be napping (fat chance), we sluffed our own sacrament meeting. We passed James in the hall. He went to sacrament and then back home. Molly and I went to serve our first official week in nursery. We've been there lots, but are now teachers (me and James, but he'll start another week).

On Sunday night, we hosted the every-other-month Petersen Family Birthday Bash. Just about everyone came. We had treats and good company. It was a fun night. I think it was the biggest group we've had in our new house and I think we had enough room, though I do need some more chairs. I didn't take any pictures. That was dumb. Oh well.

Phew . . . last, but not least, there is always that last minute WWII power point to prepare before bed. I'm tired, but it was a great weekend!
