Jack's due date was next Friday, June 8th. As I mentioned earlier, the doctors at my last two appointments said I could probably go anytime. I sort of wanted to believe them, but didn't really believe them.
On Sunday, I felt yucky.
On Monday and Tuesday, I felt huge and extra uncomfortable, but otherwise ok.
On Wednesday, I felt yucky. It was Wednesday, though, and I only needed to make it through that day and then last two more. School would be out. I could do it!
I made it through 1st period.
I made it through TEAM class.
I made it through 3rd period. I really didn't feel well and had been having some contractions, though very irregularly. By the end of 3rd, though, they were starting to hurt a little bit. I e-mailed James, "I don't feel well." He e-mailed me back, "Are you going to make it to the weekend." I replied, "I don't know."
Third period ended at 10:58. I looked ahead . . . lunch, prep period, then one more class. Could I make it? Yes, I can. No, I can't. Yes, I can. No, I can't. Just sit tight and get your work done. No, you should go next door and tell Mr. Berg you are leaving and he needs to cover your 7th. Go home. Just stay, it's fine.
I read a couple more e-mails and was having this internal debate. I tried one more time to post my SLCC grades and the stupid website crashed again. I stood up. Swoosh . . . . . Oh crap.
At that point I panicked and didn't know what to do for what seemed like and hour, but was probably a matter of about 30 seconds. I called Judy, our secretary, and said something like, "I have an emergency and the worst case scenario just happened" . . . I gave her a few directions for my 7th period and told her I was leaving.
I had a jacket sitting on my chair. It's been there since probably March. Good thing I didn't ever take it home. I tied it around my waste. I grabbed my bag, put it over my shoulder and strategically carried it in front. I left my room and started to call James. I walked expeditiously to my car and quickly drove to the hospital. I parked about 8 miles away and walked in. I told them my situation and they put me in a room pretty quickly. James got there not long after I had gotten into a room. By this time it was around 11:30 or so.
Jack was born at 2:49 p.m.
He is healthy and great. I am good, but hurt (though in totally new and different ways than with Molly).
Here are some pictures of the cute boy and his crazy sister.

Cute. Squeaky. Looks a bit like an old man. Big hands and big feet.
His entrance into the world was pretty quick.
More to come later.

The Yard
A bomb may have gone off in our backyard today. This is what it looks like. We are getting a sprinkler system put in! This week is sprinklers, next week is curbing and sod. Hopefully everything comes together like it is supposed to.
