Huh?

Here is another snippet from the old computer. Does anyone have any idea what this is? What poor electronic device did my grandpa "back" in the oven? Oh dear!

This is a picture of the thing that was put in the oven. I was the first PDA made by Sharp. We have come a long way with the blackberry and others.

Gentlemen:--
I purchased a Sharp Wizard when you first made them, and have enjoyed it now for may years. Two or three years age it got wet and I put it in the oven and backed it a while and it cam back on. It now is getting slow to open and respond in some areas of the machine.#
Do you rebuild these Model 0z-7000 Wizard's? if you do will you give me some idea what it would cost, and nay information you may have about this unit1
Thanking you for an early reply I am
 Sincerely

Spring Break Day 3

This week is Spring Break for Murray City School District. Despite the snow outside today, I guess it is actually spring. What have I to show for it? Not much. I've just enjoyed being able to sleep in a little bit, help James write a couple of papers, go out to lunch with my sister and nephew, visit my Grandma and try to talk her in to letting me take her to Target (hasn't happened yet), worked on some HOA stuff, done some laundry, study for the Miller's Analogy Test that I'm taking tomorrow.

This afternoon I am headed to pick up Alicia and Jarrell in Clearfield and taking them to the airport. They are flying to North Carolina to pick up Amber and drive her back home. Amber and her husband Colton have been living in North Carolina since being married, but Colton is now being deployed for 12 months and Amber is moving back home.

Here is a picture of another little project that I am working on this week:

On Monday when I went to visit my Grandma, she mentioned something about this computer. It is one of 2 unused computers that belonged to my Great Grandpa Eccles. Out of the blue, she said that if we could make sure we got all of my Grandpa's stuff off of it, she'd throw it out!! Any opportunity to clean out Grandma's office is a good opportunity, so I told her I'd take it. She agreed.

Getting documents off an old 386 has been a little difficult, but I have found some success. So far on the computer are a lot of birthday letters that Grandpa Eccles wrote to his family members and some journal entries. Here are a few excerpts:

Monday October 24, 1994. 10 AM at my desk getting the birthday letters finished and my journal updated. 1:30 PM thru at my desk for today. Frances and I worked all the afternoon getting the old rug out from under our bed and out of the house, she gave it away.

Friday December 30, 1994. At 10 AM I'm at my desk for the day, finishing an update on my Will for 1995.. I worked until 2:40 PM Jerry Huber called to say we have a new Great Grandson, Judys baby born about 12 Noon to day all is well with themu Saturday, December 31, 1994. 10 AM we rushed to the LDS Hospital to see Judy and the baby before they go home. A beautiful baby and his name is to be William Karl Petersen.. Later in the day we went shopping to Sears then home at 6:15PM.

For those of you who may be interested in reading more, I'll try to post it all here once I get everything off of the computer. I am having difficulty taking off some .doc files. Word will not read them, but there is also no program on the 386 that will open them. Hmmm. If you have any ideas on what I should do, let me know please.

Elliott's Hair

I got to tend Elliott on Friday.  I like to tend him.  When he saw me getting ready to go, though, he wanted me to comb his hair.  As you can see, I only know one way to comb hair.

While he was here, he kept wondering where "Unca Jims" was.  I told him he was at work. James had Guard Duty this weekend and it started on Friday this time.  James came home really late Friday night and then was gone again early Saturday.  I was a little startled on Saturday morning to find this on my refrigerator.  Guns make me really nervous, but I guess James is at least a good shot.  Later, I had to hear the whole explanation about how the first rounds (lower right corner) were taken before he adjusted his sites and that the center rounds show his sweet skills.  Ok, but it still makes me nervous to have this on my fridge.
