D-Day +2

Bad news: No baby yet.

Good news: I went to the doctor yesterday.

Bad news: IMC's policy is that a woman will NOT be induced for a first baby before 41 weeks unless the baby is at risk. My blood pressure did jump this week, to a whopping 120/70. Fortunately (though unfortunately) there is no risk there.
Bad news: My doctor just got back from 2 1/2 weeks in Turkey, but is leaving for a conference next week and says I could wait until next Thursday if I want her to induce or deliver or I could have one of her colleagues do it earlier in the week. The earliest they would induce me, though, is Monday.

Good news: My doctor said NOT to schedule another appointment with her, but to schedule an NST and then call about scheduling and induction.
Good news: My doctor said I had progressed quite a bit since the week before.
Good news: My doctor said she was willing to bet she would see me today.
Good news: I had a crappy night of discomfort that I thought was promising.
Good news: This morning I finally decided to call it quits at school and called my sub.
Good news: James and I were way excited about the possibility of meeting our little baby today.

Bad news: Nothing. I feel fine again and it's now 2:15 p.m. and . . . nothing.
Bad news: My doctor got my hopes up and I shouldn't have let her.

Good news: James and I went mall walking at the Ghetto Mall today, then walked over and through Costco, then back through the Ghetto Mall.
Bad news: Costco doesn't have a lot of free samples on a Wednesday afternoon.
Good news: We went to La Puente for lunch since their salsa is super mouth firing.
Good news: We went to WinCo and walked every isle.

Bad news: James has major indigestion.
Bad news: Me? Nothing.

Today is May 12th and a baby born today would share her birthday with Cousin Wyatt and Grandpa LaRon. Tomorrow is May 13th and a baby born would share her birthday with Aunt Geneil. I'm sure she would be very emotional about that (Geneil, not the baby), but that would be great! Friday is May 14th and a baby born that day would share her birthday with Uncle Dee. I don't think he would cry. Next week is pretty wide open for birthdays. There isn't another one until Annie's and Cousin Isabel's on May 25th and she (the baby) better not wait that long (don't worry, I won't let her).

D-Day!

When I got to work this morning and started up my computer, my outlook calendar popped up with a message for me: D-day!

Yep, today is my due date and well . . . no baby Bing, no bambino, no bundle of joy . . .

I'm willing to wait (I guess), but as a result, I am losing patience with EVERYTHING ELSE. My students are driving me crazy. I'm tired of answering to things like, "Why are you still here?" or "I thought you were supposed to have your baby today?" or "Why are you still here?" or "Mrs. Binggeli, I thought you were supposed to be gone by now?" or "Why are you still here?" or "Didn't you have your baby yet?" or "Why are you still here?"

Aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!

I am also really tired of my feet. They are fat. They hurt.
I am also really tired of my clothes. They don't fit. I'm tired of not being able to take more than 3 steps without pulling up my pants.

Enough complaining. She'll come when she comes. I feel fine, otherwise.

We'll see what D-Day +1 has to offer. At least it brings a doctor's appointment and some kind of update.

Con - GRAD - ulations!

Congratulations!
U did it!

LaRon James Binggeli, BSN

James graduated from the U this week with a degree in nursing. We are very proud of him and glad he finally made it! It was a great afternoon for James to say goodbye to all his nursing friends and wish them the best in the current job market. Then, we attended a nice, short ceremony. James even got a hug from nurse "Helga" as he walked across the stage. She must really like him. James' mom and dad were there, as well as Alicia, Annie, Jared, and kids. James' Uncle AlDon and Aunt Janet drove down from Smithfield and brought Aunt Joyce from Riverdale. My mom and dad, of course, were also there, as well as Annie and Willie. Our friend Emily was there, too, even though we didn't see her. Afterwards, we all went for burgers at Crown Burgers and then drove to Ogden to see Alicia's new house. It was a late night, but a great night!

Thursday, May 6th, 2010, 5:00 p.m.
Kingsbury Hall
College of Nursing Convocation

On Friday morning we got up and headed back to the U for commencement. It was a little weird to go to this event after the convocation ceremony, but it was still a great morning. My mom came, as well as Alicia, and we sat by the Stapley's in the Huntsman Center. I have to admit I wasn't thrilled to hear the keynote address by former Governor Huntsman, but it was actually really good and I was impressed. Afterward the ceremony and some pictures, James and I decided to go for a walk to get Baby Bing moving. (For a moment, at 5:00 a.m., I thought we might be going to the hospital instead of graduation, but then unfortunately things calmed down.) We walked to the bookstore and then back up to the Huntsman Center. Afterwards, we celebrated the only way we know how . . . cherry cokes and a GBO from Hires. Yum!

Congratulations, again, James! I am very proud of you. You did it!!

Seen-co da My-o means May 5th

'Twas the night before graduation and all through the house, Haley the strange chubby wife insisted James get his clothing out.
He found some pants, a shirt, and a tie.
The gown had some wrinkles, but nothing the iron couldn't subside. . . .
Now ready to go, no wrinkles in site, hanging in the doorway on a pre-graduation night.

Still-no-baby Update

We're now 1 week away from D-day (or B-day)!

Little Bing Baby is welcome to come any day now. Really, that would be fine.
I've just about got all of my sub stuff put together and I finally finished my USU projects (until May 17th when summer classes start up. Maybe little baby girl will be good at doing my homework.)
I've washed all the initial baby clothes and we even bought some bottles.
My feet are enormous. They've started to hurt. A lady at school yesterday walked up behind me and told me, "You're not walking very well." Sorry. I'll try harder. I guess I can't complain too much if I'm only showing signs of pregnancy at the 1 week left mark.

What else is new?

James is going to graduate this week!!!!

He had a final meeting with an instructor we refer to as Nurse Helga. She said she'd see him in black (and I don't think she meant a funeral.) The College of Nursing Graduation Ceremony is on Thursday night, May 6th. The big commencement is on Friday morning, May 7th. James is going to have a lot of support at his graduation. I am really proud of him! I think just he and I will go to the big commencement on Friday, though. If there is no baby by then, my sub is planning to come and get her feet wet with my classes that day.

What else?

Why aren't people reverent during baptisms? How hard is it to sit quietly and listen to the music while you wait for baptismal candidate's turn? You are in the chapel, you know. Don't let your kids run around and beat on things.

What else?

AAU has started and the hunted wolverines are only 1-2. Unfortunately, I've only made it to 1 and it wasn't pretty, but I guess today's was even worse. Let's get it together, gentlemen.
