Summer is just flying by. Here is a little bit of what we've been up to!
We had a couple of Spartan Station activities where we met up with some of our school friends. One of them was at a splash pad and park in Murray. We also went to Wheeler Farm (no pictures).
We had some type of rodent killing parts of our grass and building a complex network of tunnels in our wall. James tried several tactics and then just decided to take and aerosol can and a blow torch to the tunnels. We haven't had any more problems.
I had two weeks in July without my phone. I took a few pictures on my old non-smart phone that I was using, but I am too lazy to get them off of that phone now that I have my regular phone back. Therefore two weeks of our summer will go undocumented. It's ok, we'll live.
Annie, the Queen of Parties decided to hold a Granddaughter Party. A group of us (which could have been 19 with some married-in's), including granddaughters and a couple of great grandaughters gathered around for some good treats, swapped stories about my Grandma Huber and then exchanged a gift. The gifts were small items that reminded us of Grandma - like a giant mug, flowers, a rake, a clock, pink lipstick, swimming pool supplies, etc. It was a fun night!
On the day I was to get my phone back, a Friday, I lost my wallet. Pretty much I am an idiot and must have left it on the top of my car a the 7-11 and drove off. We searched forever for it, but then just I reported everything stolen and realized it would never be found again. I spent a good 2.5 hours at the DMV to replace my drivers license and called all necessary banks and credit agencies to freeze/cancel access to everything. What a mess! On Monday afternoon, my dad called to say that my wallet was in his mail. What? I got it back. I lost about $40 in cash and they took my license. Otherwise, everything seemed to be there. We still got all new bank cards, of course, but at least now I don't have to go through hassle of getting new insurance cards, zoo membership, etc.
We finished Round 2 of swimming lessons. I didn't sign Jack up for the Water Babies class this time around because A) he is crazy and B) the time slots for that class weren't that convenient. He and I just spent some quality time on the lounge chairs while Molly sort of participated in her lessons. We have now failed the Seahorse level three times. Sigh. I guess we will try again next summer.
We went on an adventure to the Museum of Natural Curiosity at Thanksgiving Point. It was neat, but could also be called the Museum of Unnatural Insanity. It was so crowded. I think I lost my children several times, but luckily not permanently.
My mom organized a few installments of "Grandma Camp." I tagged along on this particular day (so did my dad and Meranda joined us too). We went to City Creek and Temple Square. The kids were good. It was fun!
On Saturday we got to tend our cousin Max for a few hours. We ran all over our house and yard. We watched movies, rode bikes, and played baseball. We had fun.
