Hunter basketball season opened up on Wednesday night at East. It was the most exciting Hunter basketball game I have ever seen. There are a handful of new players on the team this year and they brought some sweet skills, energy, and order to the court. It was great. Hunter was down most the game, but then pulled it out in the 4th quarter. Pretty Sweet!
East had quite the crazy cheering section with retro short gym shorts, body suits, and plenty of red to go around. They cheered very well in unison. Some of their comments were typical, "Aiiirball. Aiiirball." Some were not so sportsmanlike, "You Suck. You suck," And then this big blonde Hunter kid (who didn't start, but played substantial minutes, didn't score much, but was a huge presence on the court) got to the free throw line, "Albino. Albino. Albino." I thought it, too, was a bit unsportsmanlike . . . but nonetheless creative!
Way to go Hunter! Let's hope this was a start to a good season.
