Football and Playoffs

After a terribly slow start to the season, Hunter High School football has actually made it to the playoffs. How? It's quite crazy actually. They played Viewmont on Wednesday night and shouldn't have won, but pulled it off. Viewmont was and still is the first placed team in the region, but 1) I don't think they were really ready to play and 2) Hunter came out with what seemed like a different team than we've watched all season and played out of their heads. They scored a touchdown on the opening kickoff and never looked back.

Unfortunately, the tall, handsome left tackle, then center fill-in, then right tackle didn't get to play in this high energy game. He was stuck on the sidelines recovering from a brief, but monstrous illness that wiped him out. He got sent home from practice Monday, spent the night on the bathroom floor, ended up at the doctor's on Tuesday with a blood pressure of 70/50, had 2 IV's and some ant-nausea medicine pumped into him, was wheeled out of the doctor's office by mother Judy in an double-wide wheel chair, and then went home and crashed for another day and a half. Oh well. He's feeling better now! The good news is that he got to ride up to the game and back in style in the family truckster, instead of on the stinky school bus.

Because of their win, however, they clinched the number 4 playoff spot in their region and now get to play Lone Peak . . . and hopefully not get squished. Good luck! Football prevails for another week!
