Reality check

So, I've been watching American Idol this season. Why? I don't know. It's sort of been this guilty pleasure. I don't really watch it faithfully, but if I don't catch my fill, I end up watching the youtube versions afterward. I had a reality check today, though, when I watched a few performances from last night. I realized that I have not been in a realistic musical frame of mind. I have been totally hooked-lined-and-sinkered by this crap fad. I'm sorry.

How did I recieve this revelation? It's all about the Beatles. The few (I literally mean 3) performances I watched were absolutely terrible. The Beatles and American Idol should NEVER have met and I hope this event NEVER happens again.

BEATLES = rock, original, the first of its kind, raw, real music, contemplative, inspiring, instrumental, genuine, revolutionary, creativity, psychedelia . . . no music has ever been the same since 1964. It has inspired generations.

American Idol = overproduced pop, semi-talented instrumentalists swell to cover up semi-talented vocalists, sequence and sparkles but no substance, equivalent to bad country music without the twang, all about the image, not the music, caters to the man instead of sticking it to the man, what are the judges for anyway? it's just a popularity contest instead of a music contest

So, yes, this is kind of a dumb post, but I just wanted to let everyone know that I have officially come to my senses. I'm done with American Idol. The end.

Is this why you were so mad and stressed last night?

I think that Idol is just that an Idol for those of us that think that we can sing.

There have been so good singers, but I think that they should sing more songs that actual fit the part.
