Little Purple Feet

Molly has been wriggling around a lot more at night. She's becoming slightly more mobile. She was wide awake around midnight after we got home from the rodeo. James was playing with her on the bed and even got her to push herself over from her tummy to her back a couple of times. James finally got her to sleep while I was working on some homework. Since she went to sleep a little later than usual, she slept in until about 7:30 this morning. When I woke up and realized I hadn't heard her yet, I found this. Her little purple feet were sticking out the slats of the crib.

Rodeo!

To celebrate the 24th of July (and because Alicia had free tickets for us all) we went to the Ogden Pioneer Rodeo. Again (like the 4th of July), I worried about James and I being stupid parents for taking a 2 month old to an event like this, but Molly was great, of course! She freaked out a couple of times when the people around us screamed and cheered, but she didn't seem to mind the noise coming out of the speakers and she slept through all the bulls at the end and the motorcyle jumpers afterwards. She's a good baby! We had a good time!
Molly sported her overalls. James decided to sport his rodeo boots and flavor savor. He wanted to blend in. I think I've seen him wear these boots one other time since I've known him. What was the occasion? . . . a rodeo!

Molly - 2 Month Stats

We went to the doctor today for Molly's 2 month check-up. It was scheduled for last week on her 2 month birthday, but the doctor had to reschedule for today.

Height: 24.5 inches - 98th percentile
Weight: 12 lbs 14 oz - 90th percentile
Head: 15.5 in - 58th percentile
(I'm not sure why her head is small. The doctor said not to worry about it. I don't think it looks small. Hmm.)
Other things worth noting: minor heart murmer, some skin irritations including eczema and intertrigo, otherwise very healthy!

Molly also had her first round of vaccinations today, too. She screamed for a minute, but then was fine. We'll see how she is for the next day or so.

Photos of the Grandchildren

Tonight after dinner, my mom asked if we could get a photo of her grandchildren. My mom's camera had dead batteries, so Annie took these with her phone. Here are a couple of attempts.

We decided to go visit Grandma Huber tonight, too. Maddie and Ben were there with Cole. Grandma asked if someone could take a picture of these two cute kids. Cole is 3 weeks older than Molly. They are second cousins. James only had his phone, but luckily Ben was prepared with his camera. Grandma even wanted to take her oxygen off for the photo!

Terable Studnt

It's 1:00 a.m. and I am still avoiding my homework. I have become a terrible student. There are only 3 or 4 weeks left in the semester, but I am so frustrated with the classes and just want to throw the computer out the window. I was talking to my mom the other day and she said that the reason I don't like this is because I am not "passionate" about it. She's probably right. I am "somewhat interested" in what I'm doing, but that doesn't really help much. It's summer. I'd rather be hanging out with Molly and James, the rest of my family, or at my grandmas. I have been doing a great deal of those things, which is great, but it leaves my homework until late at night. Then, late at night becomes early in the morning and I generally don't have much to show for it.

Here's is tonight's project: http://sites.google.com/site/usbinggeli/home
It's pretty rough, but I'm working on it.

Here are two anecdotal true stories for you today.

REJECTION:
I picked up Willie from football/summer seminary today and then headed over to pick up Parker. On the way to Parker's house, we passed Austin walking home. Willie said we should sneak up on him and offer him a ride. I did.

Me: Hey Austin, do you want us to drive you the last 30 steps to your house.
Austin: Sure [he begins to move half a step towards the car, notices a baby seat in the back seat and returns to walking position]. No, I'm fine. Thanks, though.
[We drive off.]

Me: Willie, does having a baby mean that your sister is no longer cool and can't give your friends a ride?
Willie: I guess so.

[Conversation ends with a discussion about the uncertain coolness of mom, also, after making Willie and Ricky-Bobby listen to an Elton John tape a few weeks ago during the drive to basketball camp.]

JUST THE SAUCE, PLEASE.
[Phone rings]
Lady #1: Hi Haley. How are you doing? I signed up to help you take a meal to that family in our ward tomorrow. It's you, me, and Lady #2. I thought we could either do spaghetti or chicken and rice casserole.
Me: Let's do spaghetti. I'll do garlic bread and a salad and Lady #2 can do a dessert. How's that?
Lady #1: Well actually, I might have to go to the airport to pick up my son-in-law and I probably shouldn't do the main course. I might have to take my part to someones house earlier.
Me: Ok. No problem. I'll do the spaghetti, you do garlic bread and a salad, lady #2 can do dessert still.
Lady #1: Sounds great. Bye.

[3 minutes later]

Lady #1: Hi Haley. How are you doing?
Me: Um . . . fine?
Lady #1: Well, I called Lady #2 and . . . why don't you just do the sauce.
Me: Um . . . ok? You don't want me to do the noodles?
Lady #1: No. Just the sauce. Lady #2 will do the noodles and dessert.
Me: Um . . . ok. Bye.

[Next Day]

Lady #1: Hi Haley. Are you ready to take the dinner over to the family? Well, I can't get a hold of Lady #2 to see if she's ready and I don't know what to do.
Me: Well, Lady #2 is very dependable and it's not like her to not follow through on something. I'm sure she's ready and will just meet us there.
Lady #1: Well, I actually haven't talked to her all week. I just left messages about the noodles and garlic bread [Me thinking: I thought she was doing dessert?]. I wonder if she's out of town. I didn't even think about that until just now. What are we going to do?
Me: No big deal. I have some spaghetti noodles, so why don't I just hurry and cook them. It will only take a minute.
Lady #1: Wait. Let me run over to Lady #2's house and I'll call you right back.

[5 minutes later]

Lady #1: Hi Haley. How are you doing? Lady #2's house is locked up tight. I think they must be out of town. What do we do?
Me: Ok. I started boiling some water already, so I'll just do the noodles. It will just take a few minutes and then I'll meet you over there.
Lady #2: What about garlic bread? I'll have to run over to Harmon's and get some bread.
Me: Ok. Whatever. Bye.

[This was the strangest and most complicated dinner-for-someone-in-the-ward I have ever done. Oh well. Once we finally got it there, the people seemed appreciative, so that was good.]
