Meeting of the Presidents

Regardless of what your political views may be, you have to admit that this is pretty cool!  And it doesn't happy very often.

The last time it occurred was in 1989.

Here are some interesting facts about living presidents (courtesy of Wikipedia).

The longest period between deaths of United States Presidents was 26 years, 6 months and 20 days, between the deaths of George Washington on December 14, 1799 and the death of Thomas Jefferson on July 4, 1826. The shortest came immediately after the longest, in the approximately five hours between the death of Jefferson at around 12:50 PM and the death of John Adams at approximately 6:00 PM.[1]
  • If the longest period between deaths is to be exceeded, no President must die before July 16, 2033 (the current oldest surviving President, George H. W. Bush, would then be 109 years old and his first "runner up", Jimmy Carter, would be 108).
  • The next longest was between the deaths of Lyndon B. Johnson and Richard Nixon, 21 years and 3 months between their deaths.

Back to the Rat Race

The worst part of holiday breaks . . .  going back to work.  Ugh.

Highlights of today
  • At 8:00 a.m. the fire alarm went off.  Lots of scantily clad high school students froze in 10 degree weather.
  • "What did you do for your holiday break?" was the question of the day.  One student made a firework explosive and said he almost burned his hand off.  One student got a tattoo of a black crow on her back.  One student said she let so-and-so graffitti her legs (not sure what that means).  Many students said they "partied."  Whatever.
  • No students wanted to do any math.   Surprised?
One other thing . . .
  • James ordered his sister a book of wedding pictures.  It came today.  Do you recognize these people?  We don't.  She's a cute girl, but she's not Amber.  This wedding took place in Depew, NY and they got married in front of a fire truck.  Walgreens sent the wrong book.  Oops.

Happy New Year!

Item 1: Happy New Year!  Best of luck in 2009.  I hope all your wishes and dreams come true.  I watched a few minutes of the ball dropping in NYC and all I can say is a feel really bad for Dick Clark.  More power to him for still doing the New Year's Eve thing, but he is in bad shape.

Item 2: Does anyone out there in blogger land who reads this know the location of my Coldplay "Viva la Vida" album or my John Mayer "Continuum" album? Did I lend them to you?  That's fine, but I can't find them and would like to know their whereabouts.  Any information about these missing items would be much appreciated.

Item 3:  James got his final grades from his first semester of nursing school at the U.  He earned a 3.85 and made the Dean's List!  Way to go!

Happy Birthday Baby Brudder!

Remember that time we went to the zoo?  It was just me and you?  You were little and still a little shaky using the bathroom.  It was winter.  You had to go.  We found one quick.  Everything was going fine until you threw my favorite bob-the-dog-brown-mittens in the toilet.  I fished them out and threw them in the garbage.  I still love you, though!!

I can't believe you are 14.  I was 14 when you were born.  Weird, huh?  If mom and dad call a family meeting when you are 14, you're welcome to come live with me.

Have a great #14!!!

And p.s. . . . . just because you THINK you're taller than me doesn't mean I can't take you!  Ha!

And p.p.s . . . just because I dropped a bottle of lotion on your head when you were a day old and ran your head into the wall on your blessing day, doesn't mean that you will have lifelong brain damage.  I promise.  It will go away eventually.
